Foster Mothers are some of the most generous, loving, and nurturing people in Nova Scotia. Most of all, they’re there for the children in their care.

They’re there when children need a loving home. They’re there when children need someone to talk to. They’re there to help children and youth break down barriers and take advantage of opportunities.

This Mother’s Day, we’re asking Nova Scotians to be there for children in care.

Right now, in Nova Scotia, we need more foster parents. You don’t need any special skills. Your care, attention, and time are all it takes to give a child a stronger future.

If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent, I invite you to visit here to learn more about an upcoming information session in your area.

If you are a foster parent — thank you for being there. Your love makes all the difference for the young person in your care.

Kelly Regan, Minister of Community Services
